About Me

My Journey in Leadership and Service

Hi, I’m Dayna Kenworthy — a Communication major at William Peace University, graduating in May 2025. I’m passionate about building strong, engaged communities and creating meaningful experiences through recreation, outreach, and public messaging.

My journey has led me to work with Cumberland County Fayetteville Parks and Recreation, where I’ve taken on leadership roles as both a lifeguard and lead lifeguard. I’ve presented safety orientations, managed shifts, and responded to real-time emergencies — all while fostering a positive and supportive environment for both staff and visitors.

Alongside my work experience, I’m certified in First Aid, CPR, and lifeguarding through the American Red Cross. I also have a strong foundation in social media management, survey design, and public communication, which I’ve applied to enhance community participation and feedback.

Outside of work and school, I’m a lifelong athlete. I currently serve as captain of the William Peace University Women’s Soccer Team and had the incredible opportunity to play professionally with Villarreal Soccer in 2021. These experiences have shaped who I am — a driven, team-oriented, and adaptable individual always striving to lead with purpose.

I’m excited about the future and the impact I can make through communication, leadership, and service.
